Q. Its only small, based on a group of family and friends that want to invest but dont know how and only I have an trading account with profitable knowledge of the markets. What are the legalities with running one?

A. I actually work for a company that just seeded a hedge fund, so I feel confident I can answer the question. You don't need to register the product with the SEC but you will need to meet specific criteria to qualify for Reg D exception under Rule 505 or 506. To create a private offering you will need to create the necessary legal documents including a Private Placement Memorandum and a Limited Partnership Agreement. Should I read the Regulators or Desperation first?

Who is more responsible for the Gulf oil spill, BP or Government Regulators?
Q. Like children with lenient parents, did BP only take advantage of the liberties allowed?
Asked by YB Logical - Wed Jun 9 19:48:41 2010 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The government. Like children, BP isn't expected to understand the ramifications of their actions. It would be great if they did, but we can't expect them to. As a parent figure, the government is suppose to make sure BP doesn't do something that could cause damage. If a child walks out into the street and gets hit by a car, do we blame the child? No, we blame the parents since they weren't watching.
